Nutrition Officer – UNICEF (Port Sudan)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Nutrition Officer to support programme preparation, planning and implementation in Red Sea State, Sudan. The role focuses on improving nutrition outcomes for vulnerable women and children, addressing widespread micronutrient deficiencies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and delivering nutrition interventions targeting micronutrient deficiencies.
• Support data collection, analysis and reporting on nutrition indicators.
• Coordinate with partners, government agencies and communities to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Contribute to the development of technical guidelines and training materials.
• Monitor and evaluate nutrition activities to ensure alignment with UNICEF’s equity strategy.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in nutrition, public health or related field.
• Experience working on nutrition programmes in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Understanding of micronutrient deficiencies and their public health impact.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nutrition assessment tools and methodologies.
• Experience in programme planning and implementation.
• Data analysis and reporting skills.
