Psychologist – Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

About the role

The Psychologist will support the International Committee of the Red Cross in delivering mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to people affected by conflict and violence in the Aljunaina area of responsibility. Working under the Head of Sub‑delegation and the MHPSS delegate, the role involves designing, implementing and monitoring community‑based and health‑facility MHPSS programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, design and develop MHPSS services for individuals and communities, including hospitalized weapon‑wounded and survivors of sexual violence.
• Integrate MHPSS activities into ICRC‑supported health facilities and coordinate with other ICRC departments.
• Facilitate culturally appropriate awareness sessions, individual consultations and group support sessions.
• Apply monitoring and evaluation tools aligned with the ICRC MHPSS framework, ensuring data quality and confidentiality.
• Develop detailed referral pathways and establish links with internal and external service providers.
• Train and coach MHPSS practitioners and healthcare workers to ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Works under the line management of the Head of Sub‑delegation and technical supervision of the MHPSS delegate.
• Capable of overseeing MHPSS programmes at community level and within health facilities.
• Demonstrates commitment to ICRC values of impact, collaboration, respect and compassion.
