About the role
The Project Coordinator – Women & Youth Economic Empowerment will support FAO’s mission in Sudan by designing, planning, implementing and monitoring initiatives that improve economic opportunities for women and youth across the agrifood value chain.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning and implementation of livelihood projects targeting women and youth.
- Assess needs and develop tailored interventions addressing unemployment, skills gaps and limited access to finance.
- Prepare concept notes, proposals and annual work and procurement plans in collaboration with technical teams.
- Supervise national affiliate personnel across value chains, agribusiness, digital finance and related components.
- Manage preparation and clearance of Letters of Agreement, procurement packages, contracts and grant agreements.
- Compile and submit timely project reports to FAO and donors.
- Organise and facilitate training on leadership, livelihood development, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
- Participate in research, advocacy and represent FAO in coordination forums, working groups and networks.
Required profile
- Relevant university degree in agriculture, development studies, economics or a related field.
- Proven experience in project coordination or management within development or UN contexts.
- Strong understanding of gender and youth issues in agrifood systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
