Economic Recovery Officer

About the role

The Economic Recovery Officer will lead livelihood interventions, including Cash‑for‑Work activities, cooperative formation and vocational training, to support vulnerable households and youth in the White Nile region.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor and report on economic recovery and livelihoods activities in line with donor requirements and DRC standards.
• Manage Cash‑for‑Work programmes: community mobilisation, beneficiary selection, attendance tracking and cash payments.
• Facilitate the creation and strengthening of community‑based business or cooperative groups, including group structures, business plans and registration.
• Identify market‑oriented vocational skills for youth, coordinate training with qualified providers and support self‑employment initiatives.
• Conduct participatory community consultations to ensure inclusive planning and link community priorities with project interventions.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Agriculture, Social Sciences or related field.
• 3–4 years of professional experience in economic recovery, livelihoods, cash‑based interventions or community development.
• Demonstrated experience with Cash‑for‑Work programming, including beneficiary selection and payment processes.
• Previous experience working for an international NGO or humanitarian organisation.
