Head of Finance - TGH Sudan

About the role

TGH, a French international solidarity organization founded in 1994 and based in Lyon, runs emergency, rehabilitation and development programmes in water, sanitation and hygiene, food security, protection and education. Its mission in Sudan, with about €9.3 million of operational volume, is supported by donors such as ECHO, OCHA-SHF, CDCS and IFSAN. The Head of Finance is based in Port Sudan (with administrative duties in N'Djamena, Chad) and makes regular field trips to the bases in Darfur.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain overall budget control, monitor cash flows and expenditures, and submit a monthly cash request to HQ
• Coordinate with budget holders, update budget versus actuals and share analysis with the Sudan Management Team and HQ
• Prepare financial reports for donors and the Country Director, and prepare and manage audits
• Finalize new budgets and modify existing grants, and prepare financial parts of agreements with local partners
• Supervise monthly accounting at field level and brief field budget holders
• Ensure compliance with Sudanese law, proper implementation of financial procedures and efficient archiving of documents
• Work with the HR Coordinator to keep the compensation and benefits package competitive and to give the country programme staffing visibility
• Contribute to monthly reporting to headquarters and report regularly to the Country Director

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• At least 3 years' experience as a Finance Manager
• Proven experience in accounting, financial management, audit management and team management
• Good knowledge of the humanitarian environment (NGOs, UN, main donors)
• Fluent English, written and spoken; Arabic or French is an advantage

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office; SAGA knowledge is an advantage
• Diplomacy, teamwork, stress management, autonomy, rigor and ability to delegate

What we offer

• Fixed-term contract of 5 months renewable, starting January 2027, with a French employment contract
• Gross monthly salary from €2,369 to €2,884 depending on experience
• Per diem of €750 and a hardship bonus of €200
