About the role

As Finance Manager, you will work with the country finance team on key issues and opportunities to find and implement financial management solutions at the country office level, continually improving SCI’s operational platform and ensuring compliance with essential quality standards. You will also safeguard agency assets and reputation by adhering to local laws, donor requirements, and demonstrating exemplary financial leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform monthly and quarterly financial reviews, balance‑sheet reconciliations and KPI benchmarking.
  • Analyse the Country Office Monthly Finance Report before sign‑off by the FD and RD.
  • Prepare management information with commentary on financial controls and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to country finance staff.
  • Coordinate and consolidate monthly cash forecasts for Sudan and liaise with central treasury as needed.
  • Champion the use of Agresso, ProSave, TIM, FSC and promote best practices.
  • Support year‑end and high‑risk award audits (e.g., ECHO, USAID) and address audit findings.
  • Maintain finance diaries, ensure adherence to control and compliance reviews, and develop additional tools where required.
  • Establish strong links with regional finance colleagues and support field visits, including emergency responses.

Required profile

  • Accounting degree; professional qualifications such as CPA, CA or ACCA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in financial management, audit or compliance, preferably in commercial or non‑profit sectors.
  • Proven ability to solve complex issues through analysis and secure stakeholder buy‑in.
  • Experience preparing financial and management accounts for overseas offices.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • High integrity, cultural awareness and ability to work in an international, diverse environment.
  • Computer fluency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and complex financial systems.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field programmes across the country.
