Finance Technical Assistant (Kadugli) – Nationals Only

About the role

NRC Sudan is recruiting a Finance Technical Assistant in Kadugli, open only to nationals. The role covers the day-to-day implementation of support functions, including cash management, petty cash, payment requests and record keeping. Only candidates physically present in Kadugli are eligible to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Manage petty cash and the cash box on a day-to-day basis
• Manage cash payments and prepare payment requests for cash and cheques, ensuring timely settlement of undisputed invoices
• Maintain up-to-date records and project accounts on the system so accurate information is available and reported
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations and carry out daily, weekly, monthly and periodic cash counts
• Track cash advances and ensure they are cleared on time
• Check that all support documents are complete and accurate before each financial transaction
• Take a leading role in scanning and online archiving of transaction documents in line with NRC SSD policy
• Prepare status reports as required by management and promote ideas for improving the support function
• Ensure proper filing of documents and maintain confidentiality of the programme operation
• Participate actively in cash programming and take any other tasks assigned by the line manager

Required profile

• Experience as a Support Function Assistant in a humanitarian or recovery context
• At least 2 years of previous experience in complex and volatile contexts
• University degree or diploma in Finance, Economics or a related field, and at least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Good knowledge of the Kadugli context
• High level of honesty, integrity and transparency

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good oral and written English; Arabic is an added advantage
