Finance Officer - Grants and Partnerships

About the role

This Finance Officer position covers grants and partnerships within a country finance team. It centres on registering partners' contributions on the accounting system, processing their payments and supporting partners with financial questions.

Key responsibilities

• Register SCI's partners on the accounting system (Agresso) after reviewing the required documentation.
• Coordinate with the Accounts Payables team to process partners' payments.
• Review partners' liquidations before submitting them to the Finance Manager for posting.
• Ensure all supporting documents are kept in hard copy and stored digitally on SharePoint.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to local partners.
• Ensure internal financial tools are used correctly to improve data quality and efficiency, and develop additional tools where needed.
• Support the country in meeting and sustaining financial management standards and complying with SCI's financial policies and procedures.
• Work with the rest of the country finance team, build links with implementing partners and network with counterparts in other finance teams.
• Work on partner tracker liquidation and payments trackers.

Required profile

• Accounting degree; full professional qualification (CPA/CA/ACCA) is preferable.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in financial management, audit or compliance in a not-for-profit setting.
• Experience solving complex issues through analysis and building buy-in.
• Ability to prepare financial and management accounts, including for overseas offices.
• Strong relationship-building, communication and independence, with the ability to work in an international environment.
• High integrity and ethics, and the personal circumstances to travel frequently to field programmes in the country.

Required skills

• Financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• Computer fluency, especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with complex financial systems.
