Assistant Project Manager – Special Projects

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager – Special Projects will support the planning, estimating, and execution of mechanical and full turn‑key projects across a range of sizes. Working closely with senior managers, the role ensures financial accuracy, client growth, and high‑quality project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in estimating and managing mechanical and full turn‑key projects.
• Handle internal project accounting, prepare routine financial updates, and manage project billings.
• Develop existing AMS client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
• Support department administration to maximise quality, efficiency, and profitability.
• Assist with collections of problematic accounts receivable.
• Prepare and submit proposals, and strategise presentations with management.
• Conduct customer follow‑up and coordinate project development with the Project Engineer/Coordinator.
• Manage project close‑out, warranty issues, and related documentation.

Required profile

• College degree or equivalent experience in the mechanical or construction industry.
• Proven experience in estimating service‑related work such as maintenance, retrofits, new installations, and time‑and‑materials projects.
• Background in project management, estimating, and sales within HVAC, electrical, or systems integration.
• Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and ability to collaborate with support and field staff.
