Urban Development Experts – Sustainable Cities Talent Pool

About the role

NTU International A/S is building a talent pool of highly qualified urban development experts to support the Global Gateway Transport and Urban Facility 2 project. The pool will provide short‑term technical assistance worldwide, focusing on sustainable, inclusive, and climate‑resilient cities.

Key responsibilities

• Support identification, preparation, appraisal and implementation of sustainable urban development projects and programmes.
• Conduct urban diagnostics, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, technical assessments, and economic‑financial analyses.
• Assist in integrated urban planning, land‑use planning, and the development of urban strategies and master plans.
• Advise public authorities on urban policies, regulatory frameworks, institutional arrangements and governance reforms.
• Integrate smart, green, inclusive, safe and climate‑resilient concepts into urban projects.
• Prepare urban investment pipelines aligned with Global Gateway and European Green Deal priorities.
• Incorporate sustainable mobility, accessibility, nature‑based solutions, green infrastructure, and disaster risk reduction into planning.
• Promote socially inclusive development, including gender equality, accessibility and human rights considerations.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in urban planning, civil engineering, environmental studies, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sustainable urban development, infrastructure planning or climate‑resilient city projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work with international donors, EU institutions or public sector clients.
• Strong analytical skills for economic and financial assessments.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
