Security Guard (Consultant) – UNISFA

About the role

The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) is seeking locally recruited Security Guards on a consultancy basis to support the safe and orderly operation of its premises in Abyei. Guard shifts are managed by the Guard Force Management Unit and incidents must be reported to the designated Officer in Charge.

Key responsibilities

• Control physical access and egress for personnel, vehicles and materials entering and exiting UNISFA premises.
• Conduct thorough searches of vehicles, personnel, passengers and baggage at the movement control point and helipad.
• Ensure all individuals display valid ID cards visibly while on the compound.
• Patrol the UNISFA area on foot and by vehicle, safeguarding warehouses, storage areas and parking zones.
• Provide assistance to newly arrived staff and visitors, and escort duties when required.
• Maintain and report the condition of security equipment.
• Register and report all incidents that occur during the shift.

Required profile

• Locally recruited and legally authorized to work for the United Nations in Abyei.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of progressive experience with police, security, fire brigade or similar operational roles.
• Fluency in spoken English (additional languages as required by the mission).
