Security Associate (Fixed-Term) – Kosti, Sudan

About the role

The Local Security Associate (LSA) will be based in Kosti, Sudan and will support UNICEF’s security risk management framework. Reporting to the Chief Field Office, the LSA helps ensure the safety of staff, their eligible family members, and the protection of UNICEF premises and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the local security environment and provide timely security updates to the office.
• Assist the supervisor in preparing and updating the UN Country Security Plan, Minimum Operating Security Standards, Residential Security Measures and related documentation.
• Develop and maintain routine security documents such as fire and evacuation plans, contingency plans and security reports.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities in coordination with UNICEF, UNDSS and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with UN and UNICEF security policies, rules and procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work in strict compliance with UN security policies.
• Strong administrative and logistical support skills for security planning.
• Experience or familiarity with security risk management in humanitarian contexts is desirable.
