Humanitarian Access Safety and Security Manager

About the role

The Humanitarian Access Safety and Security Manager works closely with the HASS Director to deliver the country safety and security strategy. This position strengthens collaboration across programmes, conducts assessments, and supports the implementation of Save the Children’s safety policies and duty of care standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the country Humanitarian Access, Safety and Security (HASS) strategy in line with senior leadership decisions.
• Conduct safety and security risk assessments for programmes and provide actionable recommendations.
• Support field teams in applying the Safety and Security Policy, Duty of Care Policy and Minimum Standards.
• Build the capacity of Safety and Security Focal Points and field‑based HASS teams through training and mentorship.
• Promote a strong security ethos throughout the organisation and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian safety, security or access management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple functions and senior leadership.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risks and develop practical recommendations.
• Experience delivering training and capacity‑building activities for field staff.
• Commitment to uphold duty of care and safety standards in challenging environments.
