Safety and Security Manager (Sudan)

About the role

World Relief Sudan is looking for a Safety and Security Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organization’s safety and security management system across all operational areas. The role reports to the Country Director and works closely with the Global Safety and Security Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of the country safety and security framework.
• Establish and maintain risk assessments, security plans, SOPs and location‑specific risk levels.
• Define movement and access protocols linked to risk levels and integrate them into travel approval systems.
• Provide regular security analysis, briefings and advisory support to senior leadership.
• Advise the Country Director and senior management on risk exposure, mitigation options and operational trade‑offs.
• Serve as the lead technical advisor during security incidents and crises, including incident analysis, response options and evacuation planning.
• Ensure timely incident reporting, documentation and conduct after‑action reviews.
• Develop and deliver security training programmes for all staff, including HEAT‑related content.
• Conduct periodic security reviews and system audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
