Safety Advisor – Kordofan, Sudan

About the role

The Safety Advisor will support INSO’s mission in Kordofan, Sudan by providing safety coordination, risk monitoring and advisory services to humanitarian NGOs operating in a volatile environment. Working closely with the INSO Sudan team, you will help ensure the safety of staff and assets across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, verify and analyse safety‑related incidents and trends in Kordofan.
• Produce real‑time incident tracking reports and analytical briefs for partner NGOs.
• Maintain and update safety maps and databases used by INSO and its partners.
• Provide on‑the‑ground safety advice, risk assessments and crisis‑management support to NGOs.
• Deliver staff orientations, trainings and briefings on security protocols and best practices.
• Coordinate with the INSO coordination team and other humanitarian actors to improve overall safety coordination.

Required profile

• Experience working in humanitarian or security contexts, preferably in insecure settings.
• Strong understanding of safety and security principles for aid operations.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make rapid decisions.
• Fluent English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
