Nutrition Specialist (Sub-National Cluster Coordinator)

About the role

Under the overall direction of the Nutrition Cluster Coordinator (P4), the Nutrition Specialist (Sub-National Cluster Coordinator) will strengthen field‑level cluster coordination across the five Darfur states. The role provides leadership and representation for the nutrition cluster at sub‑national levels, ensuring a coordinated, strategic, and effective humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop sub‑national coordination mechanisms in line with the IASC Reference Module and humanitarian response plans.
• Support state‑level sub‑national coordinators in leading cluster activities and representing the cluster to local stakeholders.
• Facilitate inter‑sectoral collaboration and integration of humanitarian actions across Darfur states.
• Align sub‑national work with national cluster priorities, ensuring effective communication and reporting.
• Build capacity of partners and stakeholders on coordination processes and cluster standards.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the sub‑national cluster response and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required profile

• University degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Humanitarian Affairs or a related field.
• Proven experience in humanitarian nutrition coordination, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong understanding of the cluster approach and IASC Reference Modules.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an asset.
