International Finance Manager – Sudan

About the role

The International Finance Manager (IFM) for Sudan will provide strategic and operational financial leadership for HALO Trust’s programme in the country. Based in Sudan, the IFM ensures donor‑funded activities are delivered efficiently, compliantly and in line with organisational policies, donor requirements and national legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Programme Manager in developing and monitoring annual business plans and project budgets.
• Lead preparation, review and management of grant and contract budgets using HALO’s financial planning systems.
• Monitor programme funding positions, create financial scenarios and support sustainability decisions.
• Oversee financial monitoring of grants and contracts, forecast costs to completion and manage spend‑out plans.
• Identify, assess and escalate financial risks, advising the Programme Manager on mitigation strategies.
• Strengthen financial systems and build capacity within the national finance team.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to donors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial management within complex, multi‑donor environments.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, grant management and national financial legislation.
• Proven ability to work in challenging operating contexts and manage risk proactively.
• Excellent analytical, planning and reporting skills.
