About the role

The Finance Technical Assistant provides efficient and compliant financial support services for the Norwegian Refugee Council in Sudan. The role ensures accurate processing of transactions, maintenance of cash and bank records, and strict adherence to NRC financial policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash and bank payments, petty‑cash handling, and bank transfers for suppliers, beneficiaries, staff claims and operational expenses.
• Record all payments, advances and clearances in NRC financial systems (Citrix/Unit4) and maintain up‑to‑date cash and bank balance trackers.
• Prepare weekly cash and bank balance reports and support month‑end closing activities.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and ensure proper archiving of finance records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in finance, accounting or cash management, preferably within a humanitarian or NGO setting.
• Good written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Experience using ERP/accounting systems, preferably Unit4 or similar finance software.
• Ability to work with Citrix‑based financial applications.
