Head of Project – Sudan (Kassala)

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a senior professional to lead its project portfolio in Kassala State, Sudan. The Head of Project will ensure that all activities are delivered on time, within budget and in line with donor and organisational requirements, contributing to the improvement of food security and livelihoods for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement project(s) in line with donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, covering planning, monitoring, budgeting, logistics, finance and administration.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders across humanitarian, rehabilitation and development programming.
• Recruit, lead and supervise project staff, ensuring compliance with Welthungerhilfe policies and security management.
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with national and international stakeholders and support public‑relations activities.
• Contribute to country strategy development, strategic planning and other tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and management with an international organization.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing donor‑funded projects at field level.
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Access.
