Head of Project – Sudan

About the role

Welthungerhilfe seeks a Head of Project for its operations in Kassala State, Sudan. The role starts on 1 January 2027 and involves leading the implementation of humanitarian and development projects to improve food security and support marginalized communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement projects in line with donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, overseeing planning, budgeting, logistics, finance and administration.
• Continuously review project plans and budgets, reporting progress, challenges and risks to the Country Director/Area Manager.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders across humanitarian, rehabilitation and development programming.
• Recruit, lead and support project staff, ensuring compliance with Welthungerhilfe policies and security management systems.
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with national and international stakeholders, strengthening networks with civil society, government and academia.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and management with an international organization.
• Proven experience in leading multi‑partner field programmes and managing donor‑funded projects.
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
