Head of Project Sudan

About the role

Welthungerhilfe, one of Germany’s largest private aid organisations, is seeking a Head of Project Sudan for its operations in Kassala. The role involves leading the planning, implementation and reporting of projects that improve food security and support vulnerable communities in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement projects in line with donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, overseeing planning, budgeting, logistics, finance and administration.
• Continuously review project plans and budgets, reporting progress, challenges and risks to the Country Director/Area Manager.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders across humanitarian, rehabilitation and development programmes.
• Recruit, lead and supervise project staff, ensuring compliance with Welthungerhilfe’s policies and security management systems.
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with national and international stakeholders, strengthening networks with civil society, government and academia.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and management with an international organisation.
• Proven experience in leading multi‑partner field programmes and managing donor‑funded projects.
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
