Environmental Health Safety Specialist

About the role

The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist will lead health, safety, and environmental management initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Khartoum and works closely with multiple teams to embed a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies and procedures.
• Conduct workplace safety training sessions and ensure employee participation.
• Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and devise mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental health guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to promote safety best practices.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles.
• Strong experience in EHS management and workplace safety training.
• Knowledge of environmental policies and regulatory compliance.
• Problem‑solving and risk‑assessment capabilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are a plus.
• Ability to work effectively on‑site and collaborate with diverse teams.
