Coordination Unit (Forum) Coordinator - Sudan Kauda

About the role

NRC Sudan is recruiting a Coordination Unit (Forum) Coordinator for the Nuba Mountains (Region 1, South Kordofan). The post strengthens existing coordination mechanisms rather than creating parallel ones, acting as a neutral convener of multi-sectoral humanitarian coordination and a field-level interface between the Coordination Unit and humanitarian actors. It sits within the Coordination Unit in the Nuba Mountains and reports to the CU management team.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate inclusive, neutral and solutions-oriented coordination meetings and support joint planning and prioritization across sectors
• Engage with OCHA, clusters, the INGO Forum and other coordination structures, and coordinate with INGO field focal points on first-line and second-line response strategies
• Support the CU in maintaining a live service mapping platform and rolling out shared tools such as referral trackers and dashboards, and integrate data outputs into OCHA and cluster information management systems
• Advocate on access issues with local authorities and support coordination with relevant secretariates and local networks
• Organize learning exchanges, training and mentoring, capture lessons learned and support after-action reviews and adaptive management
• Ensure adherence to NRC and donor policies, tools and guidelines, and adapt local tools and protocols in consultation with stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in humanitarian affairs, development studies or social sciences (master's preferred)
• At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian response, coordination or multisectoral programming
• Experience engaging with INGOs, NNGOs, UN agencies and coordination mechanisms
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is an added advantage
• Knowledge of the South Kordofan and Nuba Mountains context is a significant asset

Required skills

• Proven facilitation, negotiation and coordination skills in conflict-affected or access-constrained contexts
• Strong contextual knowledge of the humanitarian landscape in Sudan and the Nuba Mountains

What we offer

• Duty station: South Kordofan, Region 1/Nuba Mountains
• Fixed-term contract of 6 months, renewable based on funding and performance
• Travel allowance of 40%
• Salary at grade 8 on NRC's international salary scale
