Cash and Markets Programme Development Manager - Sudan

About the role

The Cash and Markets Programme Development Manager leads the design, development and implementation of market-based approach programmes, including cash and voucher assistance (CVA), in NRC Sudan. The post supports the institutionalisation of market-based approaches across Core Competencies and works in Al-Geniena, Darfur, on a 12-month renewable contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the market-based approach strategy, guidelines, technical SOPs, training materials and results frameworks, applicable to all Core Competencies
• Manage funding proposals, project budgets and donor reports, and coordinate project implementation and staff
• Build staff capacity through blended learning and liaise with local and national authorities and stakeholders
• Promote the rights of IDPs and returnees and their economic inclusion
• Lead the inclusion of market-based approaches in programming and oversee large-scale multipurpose cash and e-cash programmes
• Manage market analysis, information management and monitoring systems, and relationships with financial service providers and mobile network operators
• Identify partners for market-based and nexus programming and represent NRC in working groups such as the Cash Working Group

Required profile

• At least five years of experience in a senior Cash and Market Systems project implementation role in a humanitarian or recovery context
• Experience in complex and volatile contexts; experience with high inflation is desirable
• Documented results for the position's responsibilities and self-knowledge of leadership skills
• Fluent English, written and spoken; proficiency in Arabic is a strong asset
