The role leads the day-to-day management of a portfolio of CVA grants across several Area Offices, supervising the Cash & Markets Project Coordinator(s) and acting as the technical reference point for Area Office cash and market staff. It turns strategy and donor commitments into on-time, compliant, quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage cash projects (activities, budgets, procurement, partners, documentation) in line with proposals, strategy and donor requirements, and report regularly against internal and donor deadlines.
  • Line manage the Cash & Markets Project Coordinator(s) and give functional guidance to Area Office cash staff, including performance management, recruitment, induction, development and Duty of Care.
  • Oversee MPCA, sectoral cash and voucher delivery, direct and partner-led, ensuring Area Office teams follow NRC Sudan SOPs on targeting, registration, verification, payment and complaints handling.
  • Lead or support cash feasibility, market and risk assessments, and identify opportunities for market-support interventions.
  • Oversee CVA project budgets with Area Offices and Finance, reconcile reach and distribution figures, and work with MEAL on monitoring, quality and learning.
  • Support partner capacity assessments and represent NRC in the Cash Working Group and CCS technical meetings.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, social sciences, development studies or a related field; a Master's is an asset.
  • At least 4 years of humanitarian experience, including a minimum of 3 years managing CVA projects or similar interventions.
  • Proven project cycle management, line management experience and documented results.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, able to write donor-quality reports in English.
  • Experience in complex, insecure and fast-changing contexts; strong knowledge of the Sudan context.
  • National candidates with the legal right to work in Sudan; NRC does not sponsor visas.

Required skills

  • Advanced Excel; KoBo/ODK, Power BI or beneficiary data systems (e.g. LMMS, RedRose) are an asset.
  • Knowledge of Sudanese markets, financial service providers and digital payments; familiarity with CALP, Sphere and MSMS market assessment tools.
  • Experience with institutional donors such as ECHO, BHA, SHF/CBPF and GFFO, and partner-led delivery.

What we offer

  • 12-month contract, renewable based on funding and performance.
  • 40% travel to Area Offices and field locations.
  • Salary at grade 8 on NRC's national salary scale.
