About the role

The Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS), in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), is seeking an experienced consultant to provide advisory services that strengthen SRCS’s capacity to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan. The consultant will lead three core workstreams – the Way of Working initiative, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Communications, and local Resource Mobilization – and will report directly to the SRCS Secretary General and the IFRC Head of Country Cluster Delegation in Khartoum.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the National Society Roadmaps on Resource Mobilization and on Humanitarian Diplomacy and Communications.
• Support the implementation of the Way of Working roadmap, ensuring alignment with locally‑led action.
• Assist the SRCS Secretary General in institutionalising humanitarian diplomacy and communications functions within the Society.
• Develop and operationalise a functional local Resource Mobilization department.
• Provide guidance and technical advice on related areas as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian advisory, resource mobilisation, or communications within a Red Cross/Red Crescent or similar NGO context.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian diplomacy and the principles of locally‑led response.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership of SRCS and IFRC.
