National Field Coordinator (Nationals Only)

About the role

The National Field Coordinator will support OCHA’s humanitarian access strategy in Sudan, working closely with senior office leadership and the humanitarian community to ensure principled and effective assistance delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Deputy Head of Office and Head of Office in implementing an access strategy, including actor mapping and context analysis.
• Monitor, analyse and report on humanitarian developments, disaster relief and emergency situations.
• Prepare regular access papers and reports highlighting policy and operational factors affecting access.
• Maintain an access database, providing timely analysis to coordination stakeholders.
• Facilitate inter‑agency technical review meetings and support negotiations with government and other partners to secure humanitarian access.
• Provide technical assistance to field offices, organise field missions and contribute to studies, policy guidelines and briefing materials.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of humanitarian assistance, emergency relief and related human‑rights issues, with the ability to analyse complex access dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, communication and coordination skills, able to work under pressure in conflict‑affected environments and incorporate gender perspectives into all work.
