Program Director – Humanitarian Programs

About the role

World Relief Sudan is seeking a senior leader to provide strategic direction and oversight for its multi‑sector humanitarian program portfolio. Reporting to the Country Director and serving on the Senior Leadership Team, the Program Director ensures high‑quality, accountable, and compliant programming across all field locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the country program strategy, balancing immediate humanitarian response with long‑term resilience building.
• Integrate cross‑cutting considerations such as protection, gender, disability inclusion, accountability to affected populations, and environmental safeguards.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, HR, and logistics to align resources and processes with program objectives.
• Design and develop proposals, concept notes, and funding strategies that reflect needs assessments and best practices.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with donors and partners to secure new funding.
• Oversee the full grant cycle, ensuring compliance with donor agreements, contractual obligations, and consistent reporting.
• Conduct monthly budget‑vs‑actual reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or development settings, preferably in conflict‑affected environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑sector programs and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, donor compliance, and grant management.
• Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
