Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer will support Trócaire’s expanding programme in South Kordofan, overseeing two new projects focused on women and girls’ protection, voice and leadership. Working closely with partner MEAL officers, the role ensures robust data collection, analysis and reporting to drive high‑quality, accountable programming.

Key responsibilities

• Assist partners in developing and using Activity Performance Tracking Templates (APTT), Indicator Performance Tracking Tables (IPTT) and Indicator Reference Sheets (IRS).
• Support the design and implementation of electronic and manual data collection tools, including enumerator training and data validation.
• Strengthen the capacity of partners and women‑led organisations on MEAL concepts, data protection and data use.
• Help compile donor‑ready reports such as annual reviews and project completion reviews.
• Develop and implement MEAL plans aligned with approved project documents and establish baselines for all impact, outcome and output indicators.
• Conduct regular data collection activities and contribute to programme monitoring and learning outputs.

Required profile

• Experience working with NGOs or development partners in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to train and support local staff in data collection and analysis.
• Strong coordination skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
