INGO Forum Director – Sudan

About the role

The INGO Forum Director will lead the coordination of international NGOs operating in Sudan, based in Port Sudan with frequent travel to Nairobi and multiple locations across the country. This full‑time, fixed‑term position (August 2026 – March 2027) is critical for enhancing humanitarian access and advocacy during a severe crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead the Humanitarian Access Working Group (HAWG) alongside OCHA.
• Drive collective advocacy through the Advocacy Working Group (AWG) and engage donors, UN agencies, and government authorities.
• Facilitate information flow between Forum members and external partners, including UN and regional stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on access‑related barriers, document trends, and develop best‑practice recommendations.
• Represent the INGO Forum within the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) and Inter‑Cluster Coordination Group (ICCG).

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Sudan and to Nairobi.
• Experience working in high‑risk humanitarian environments with frequent contact with participants and sensitive data.
• Strong understanding of coordination mechanisms among INGOs, UN agencies, and local actors.
