IT Roaming and Interconnect Advance Specialist

About the role

Zain Sudan is looking for an IT Roaming and Interconnect Advance Specialist within its Technology division, in the BSS/OSS & VAS Systems Operations department. The specialist reports to the BSS/OSS & VAS Systems Operations Manager and is accountable for keeping Zain's Interconnect and Roaming operations and their supporting systems highly available and reliable, while meeting internal and external customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the MS team and validate the data they provide against Service Level Management (SLM) and KPIs.
• Manage suppliers and vendors, and handle external and internal customer support.
• Ensure system data models, processes, workflows and configuration changes are recorded and maintained correctly, and that operations, maintenance, outages and downtimes are reported accurately.
• Liaise with internal customers and the MS team to minimise the risk of unplanned outages destabilising the business.
• Take part in technology business planning, identify projects and provide cost estimates.
• Coordinate with vendor support on problem reporting and facilitate upgrades of Interconnect and Roaming software.
• Help develop contingency plans as the Zain SD network grows, and provide 24x7 support to internal customers.
• Check processes periodically for data integrity and perform scheduled audit reviews.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience maintaining, configuring and operating Interconnect and Roaming systems.
• Hands-on experience with Interconnect and Roaming concepts and applications; mobile telecommunications background desirable; on-the-job training preferred.

Required skills

• Numeracy and analytical skills, and ability to interpret and apply best practices.
• Supplier and vendor management, conflict resolution, change management and project management.
• Communication and reporting in Arabic and English.
• Use of IT packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
