Humanitarian & Field Coordination Specialist

About the role

The Humanitarian & Field Coordination Specialist (HFCS) supports UNFPA’s strategic humanitarian response, acting as the main link between the Country Office and three sub‑national Field Hubs. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, the HFCS ensures that emergency interventions in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender‑based violence (GBV) are integrated with development and peace‑building efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Humanitarian Response Unit and supervise the three Field Hub Leads.
• Coordinate operational and programmatic activities of Field Hubs to align with the Country Programme Document and humanitarian response plan.
• Champion the Humanitarian‑Development‑Peace (HDP) Nexus, ensuring seamless transition from emergency response to sustainable development.
• Manage implementing partners at sub‑national level and monitor performance.
• Provide strategic guidance on SRH and GBV interventions in crisis settings.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian coordination, preferably in reproductive health or GBV.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams across field locations.
• Strong understanding of the HDP Nexus and UNFPA strategic priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
