Health Capacity Strengthening Consultant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Health Capacity Strengthening Consultant to support the African Development Bank‑funded Sudan Integrated Social Sector Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project (SISSIRP). The role focuses on building institutional capacity in the health sector at federal and state levels across four Sudanese states.

Key responsibilities

• Support coordination with the Federal Ministry of Health, the National Public Health Institute and other federal health institutions to design, endorse and roll out capacity‑strengthening and training activities.
• Liaise with WHO, UN agencies, INGOs and national health partners to align training content, avoid duplication and leverage existing curricula.
• Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing health workforce capacity and training needs assessments in 20 target communities.
• Contribute to the development of training materials and facilitate joint capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in health systems strengthening, capacity building or training in low‑resource settings.
• Familiarity with coordination mechanisms involving ministries, WHO and other health actors.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Programme Officer (Migration Health) and Senior Health Associate.
