Senior Driver for WHO Country Office

About the role

The World Health Organization is seeking a reliable Senior Driver to support the Head of the Country Office and other senior officials. The role involves safe transportation, handling of official parcels, and ensuring compliance with WHO security and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive senior WHO officials, meet them at airports and facilitate immigration and customs procedures.
• Deliver and collect official pouches, mail, parcels and heavy items to/from UN agencies, ministries, embassies and other partners.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, battery, brakes, tyres) and conduct minor repairs or arrange external maintenance.
• Maintain vehicle logs, mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, insurance, registration and required spare parts.
• Procure minor supplies, handle payment deliveries for telephone/fax bills, and manage visa, licence and special permit requests.
• Follow WHO accident‑reporting procedures and provide messenger services within the office as needed.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education or equivalent professional experience.
• Valid professional driving licence for light and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Minimum two years of professional driving experience.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to maintain different vehicle types.
• Strong knowledge of local topography and traffic regulations.
• Ability to interact with diverse clients respectfully.
