About the role
The Security & Safety Officer 2 advises the ICRC delegation on security risk assessment and ensures that security information is properly diffused and accessible in line with Duty of Care obligations.
Key responsibilities
- Compile daily security data, incidents, threats and trends in the Safe Lens database with discretion and accuracy.
- Produce monthly analysis reports and ad‑hoc risk assessments for Port Sudan, Khartoum and other locations.
- Distribute security alerts, advisories and situation updates to staff in a timely manner.
- Organise comprehensive security briefings for new staff members.
- Develop and maintain a network of security interlocutors (government, NGOs, iNGOs) and keep contact lists up to date.
- Advise management on implications of non‑compliance with security rules and support investigations into security or safety incidents.
- Assess the safety of residences, hotels, training venues and roads.
- Manage contracts with security service providers.
Required profile
- Experience in security risk assessment and incident reporting.
- Ability to analyse security situations and provide clear recommendations.
- Strong coordination skills with internal teams and external security partners.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Safe Lens security database.
