Safety Officer – Site Safety Management

About the role

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that all site activities comply with established health, safety and environmental policies. This role focuses on creating a safe work environment by monitoring practices, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety among employees and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the site safety plan in line with company policies.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses, and apply appropriate control measures.
• Perform regular safety audits, inspections of work areas and equipment, and document compliance.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety orientation sessions for new hires and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near‑misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Review subcontractors’ safety programs for alignment with company standards.
• Maintain safety statistics, records, and ensure confidentiality of all safety documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness, including medical facilities, fire response, and evacuation procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in site safety management, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard assessment methods, and incident investigation processes.
• Ability to communicate safety expectations clearly to diverse workforces.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate safety records.
