About the role
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Coordinator will support the implementation and quality assurance of MEAL activities across DRC Sudan’s operational areas. Reporting to the MEAL Manager, the role provides technical supervision to field MEAL Officers and ensures that monitoring systems, data quality, and learning processes meet donor and organisational standards.
Key responsibilities
- Integrate MEAL throughout the Project Cycle Management and develop project‑specific MEAL plans in collaboration with program teams.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of indicator tracking tools (IPTTs) and data collection systems, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Provide technical input on MEAL components of project proposals, including indicators, logical frameworks, and budgeting.
- Coordinate data quality assurance measures, including methodology development, DQA implementation, and ethical compliance.
- Facilitate cross‑project learning by sharing monitoring findings and participating in kick‑off, review, and close‑out meetings.
Required profile
- Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong understanding of donor reporting requirements and MEAL best practices.
- Ability to supervise and mentor field MEAL officers and work collaboratively with program teams.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to data quality and ethical standards.
Required skills
- Design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies.
- Development and management of indicator tracking tools and dashboards.
- Data quality assurance (DQA) processes.
- Knowledge of humanitarian standards and protection principles.
