Information Management Specialist – IM Hub

About the role

The Information Management Specialist will provide technical leadership for UNICEF’s Information Management (IM) Hub in Sudan. The role focuses on identifying and mapping vulnerable children affected by emergencies, ensuring reliable data collection, centralisation, and situational monitoring to support effective humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Lead GIS mapping and localisation of vulnerable children during emergencies and disasters.
• Oversee routine and administrative data collection, centralisation, and mapping for real‑time situational monitoring.
• Support the Country Office in delivering valid, reliable information on children’s and women’s rights and programme performance.
• Collaborate with the UN Country Team to provide data that informs SDG tracking and UNCT goals.
• Ensure data quality, relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of information systems.

Required profile

• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably with UN agencies.
• Strong understanding of information management principles and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to work within multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinate with national and international stakeholders.

Required skills

• GIS mapping and spatial analysis.

• Proficiency with information management tools and databases.
