ICT Technical Assistant – Sudan (Kadugli) – Nationals Only

About the role

The ICT Technical Assistant will support the Norwegian Refugee Council office in Kadugli, Sudan, ensuring reliable IT services for staff and visitors. The role focuses on help‑desk support, network maintenance, and asset management while adhering to NRC policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line help‑desk assistance for hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Maintain and update the Asset Registry for all ICT and non‑ICT equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve LAN, WAN, VSAT and wireless network problems.
• Configure and manage Cisco switches and routers.
• Set up internet connectivity for staff and visitors.
• Prepare status reports and ensure proper document filing.
• Schedule regular computer maintenance and service.
• Release ICT resources to authorized users as approved.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent diploma).
• Minimum two years of relevant IT experience, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to work in a diverse environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
