Head of Project Sudan

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a Head of Project for its operations in Kassala State, Sudan. You will lead the planning, implementation and reporting of projects that aim to improve food security and livelihoods for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement projects in line with donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, overseeing planning, budgeting, logistics, finance and administration.
• Continuously review and adapt project plans, report progress, challenges and risks to the Country Director/Area Manager.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders across humanitarian, rehabilitation and development programming.
• Recruit, lead and support project staff, ensuring compliance with Welthungerhilfe policies and security management systems.
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with national and international stakeholders and support public‑relations activities.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and management with an international organization.
• Proven experience in leading multi‑partner field operations and managing donor‑funded projects.
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access).
