Head of Project Sudan

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a Head of Project for its operations in Kassala State, Sudan. The role starts on 1 January 2027 and involves leading project implementation, coordination and reporting to achieve donor and organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement projects in line with donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, overseeing planning, budgeting, logistics, finance and administration.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders, representing Welthungerhilfe at national and international forums.
• Recruit, lead and support project staff, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and security management systems.
• Continuously review project plans, report progress, challenges and risks to the Country Director/Area Manager, and contribute to country strategy development.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and management with an international organization.
• Proven experience in leading multi‑partner field programmes and managing donor‑funded projects.
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Project planning, budgeting and monitoring.
• Donor reporting and compliance.
