Head of Project Sudan

About the role

Lead the implementation and management of Welthungerhilfe projects in Kassala State, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and in line with donor requirements. The role starts on 1 January 2027 with an initial one‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, budget, and report on project activities, logistics, finance and administration.
• Maintain relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders, and represent Welthungerhilfe in national and international forums.
• Recruit, manage and develop project staff, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and security procedures.
• Contribute to country strategy, strategic planning and other management tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and donor‑funded project management with an international organisation.
• Proven experience leading multi‑partner field operations and managing teams.
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Access.
