Head of Project Sudan

About the role

Lead the implementation and management of Welthungerhilfe projects in Kassala State, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with donor requirements. This senior position reports to the Country Director/Area Manager and works closely with the regional office and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement projects according to donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, covering planning, monitoring, budgeting, logistics, finance and administration.
• Continuously review and adapt project plans and budgets, reporting progress, challenges and risks.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with donors and stakeholders across humanitarian, rehabilitation and development programming.
• Recruit, manage and lead project staff, ensuring compliance with Welthungerhilfe policies and security management.
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with national and international stakeholders, strengthening networks with civil society, government and academia.
• Support public relations, host visiting donors, staff and journalists, and contribute to country strategy and management discussions.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and management with an international organization.
• Proven experience in planning, leading and coordinating field partners and managing donor‑funded projects.
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access).
