General Manager

About the role

The General Manager will lead all activities of Saaeid Logistics in Sudan, driving fast growth while ensuring the organisation can sustain its operations. This senior position reports directly to the CEO and requires a blend of humanitarian expertise and commercial acumen.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a strategic plan that balances rapid expansion with organisational capacity.
• Build and maintain relationships with UN agencies, NGOs, and public‑sector partners.
• Lead, develop, and expand a local team of about 20 staff, including recruitment as needed.
• Establish and optimise internal processes for operations, finance, security and logistics.
• Oversee resource allocation, decision‑making and champion Saaeid’s core values.

Required profile

• Senior humanitarian professional moving into a business/commercial role.
• Minimum 15 years experience in humanitarian emergency contexts, with a strong track record working with UN agencies and NGOs.
• Extensive experience in Sudan; East Africa/Horn of Africa experience is a strong asset.
• Proven ability to manage UN RFQs and familiarity with the UNGM platform.
• Experience representing organisations to donors, authorities and handling conflict‑related displacement issues.
• Self‑starter with high autonomy, strong managerial capability and fluency in English and Arabic.
