Gender Specialist – Humanitarian Programme (Sudan)

About the role
Plan International Sudan is seeking an experienced Gender Specialist to provide technical leadership and gender mainstreaming for the GPE BRIDGES programme and, subject to funding, a new phase of the Education Cannot Wait Multi‑Year Resilience Programme. The role will ensure gender‑responsive and gender‑transformative approaches are embedded across consortium partners and implementing agencies.
Key responsibilities
- Lead gender technical oversight for the GPE BRIDGES and ECW programmes.
- Integrate gender‑responsive strategies into programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide technical support and capacity‑building to consortium members and local partners.
- Engage education stakeholders at local and national levels to promote gender equity.
- Address harmful gender norms, prevent and respond to gender‑based violence, and promote inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in gender or gender‑based violence within humanitarian settings.
- Strong knowledge of gender mainstreaming, community‑level transformative approaches, protection and inclusion.
- Proven ability to manage programme cycles in insecure or politically sensitive environments.
- High professionalism, integrity and strong leadership and coordination skills.
