People and Culture Director

About the role

The Deputy Director, People & Culture (P&C) leads the P&C function for IRC in Sudan, ensuring the right talent, structures, and culture are in place to deliver high‑quality humanitarian programming. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the role acts as a strategic advisor to the Country Director and drives staff wellbeing and organizational culture.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Country Director and Senior Management Team on workforce planning, succession, leadership transitions, and organizational design.
• Lead the People & Culture team, ensuring delivery of high‑quality services and continuous staff development.
• Ensure P&C systems and policies align with IRC global standards, values, and commitments (GEDI, Safeguarding, Duty of Care).
• Partner closely with the Regional P&C Director and support SMT members to embed inclusive, safe, and high‑performing people practices across all program levels.
