FinTech Financial Operations Manager

About the role

Zain's Bede unit, a FinTech company operating in Sudan, is looking for a Financial Operations Manager to oversee its end-to-end financial operations and revenue assurance framework. The role ensures accurate processing of fintech transactions, effective reconciliation and settlement, prevention of revenue leakage, compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements, and delivery of financial insights that improve efficiency and profitability. It reports to the Head of Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead payment operations, transaction processing, settlements and reconciliations across digital financial services, including wallet, merchant, bill payment and remittance transactions.
• Monitor daily wallet payments and key cash-in/out and merchant/bill payments, and resolve issues with data transmission between the bank and the wallet platform.
• Identify and fix errors and reconciliation discrepancies, generate end-of-day wallet activity reports, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Oversee daily reconciliation of transactions, customer funds, settlement accounts and partner balances, and settle financial obligations on time.
• Build and run the revenue assurance framework: validate fees, commissions, tariffs and pricing, recover revenue leaks and billing errors, and set up controls against fraud and operational loss.
• Support AML/CFT controls, transaction monitoring and regulatory compliance; safeguard customer funds in line with regulations.
• Track transaction success rates, failed transactions, reversals and chargebacks, and build dashboards and management reports.
• Drive automation of settlements, reconciliations and commission calculations, and lead the Financial Operations and Revenue Assurance teams, setting KPIs and service standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, banking, business administration, economics, information systems or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA or CIMA is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in FinTech, digital payments, banking operations, financial operations or revenue assurance.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience in payment operations, settlements, reconciliations or revenue assurance.
• Experience with banks, payment service providers, merchants and digital financial services platforms.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of digital payments, mobile wallets, settlements, reconciliations, revenue assurance and financial controls.
• Knowledge of AML/CFT requirements, operational risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Arabic and English, and strong presentation, reporting and project management skills.
• Proficiency in IT packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
