Driver – Safe Transportation & Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

The Driver will ensure safe, reliable, and timely transportation of authorized personnel and, when required, cargo or hazardous goods for UNOPS projects in Sudan. The role also includes routine vehicle maintenance, documentation, and support for administrative and facility services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and punctual transport for staff, guests, and cargo, including airport pick‑ups and assistance with immigration and customs.
• Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other items as needed.
• Maintain accurate daily vehicle logs and contribute to maintenance planning.
• Perform routine vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires) and keep vehicles in good working order.
• Carry out minor repairs, coordinate major repairs, and ensure vehicles remain clean and roadworthy.
• Manage vehicle documentation such as insurance, registration, logs, maps, first‑aid kit, and spare parts.
• Respond to accidents according to organizational procedures.
• Assist administrative teams with procurement of office supplies and inventory management.
• Support facility management by arranging minor repairs and liaising with service providers.

Required profile

• Secondary school diploma (or equivalent) with at least 2 years relevant driving experience, or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Professionalism, courtesy, and discretion when interacting with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety and security protocols.
