Donor Reporting & Proposal Writing Consultant – WASH (7 months)

About the role

UNICEF Sudan is seeking an experienced consultant to strengthen the WASH Section’s capacity for high‑quality donor reporting and proposal development. The role is remote‑based and lasts for seven months, supporting the preparation, coordination and finalisation of donor‑facing documents.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance the quality, coherence and consistency of donor reports and proposals in line with UNICEF standards and donor requirements.
• Ensure timely submission of all donor deliverables through proactive planning, tracking and coordination.
• Develop evidence‑based, results‑focused narratives that clearly articulate programme impact, challenges and value for money.
• Strengthen internal information‑management processes, knowledge sharing and documentation within the WASH Section.
• Contribute to resource mobilisation by drafting high‑quality concept notes and proposals aligned with donor priorities.
• Promote systematic reporting using templates, trackers and quality‑assurance mechanisms.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in international development, public health, WASH, social sciences, communications or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in donor reporting, proposal development and resource mobilisation in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong knowledge of donor requirements and formats (e.g., KfW, ECHO, FCDO, USG, World Bank, CERF, SHF).
• Fluent English with excellent writing and editing skills.
• Experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is an asset.
• Familiarity with WASH programming, humanitarian systems and results‑based management.
