Country Health and Nutrition Program Manager

About the role

The Country Health and Nutrition Program Manager leads World Vision Sudan’s health and nutrition portfolio, ensuring high‑quality design, implementation, monitoring and emergency response. This senior position provides strategic and technical direction to improve child wellbeing, community resilience and health outcomes across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous supportive supervision and remote monitoring of project staff to strengthen performance and accountability.
• Deliver targeted training and orientation based on identified capacity needs.
• Strengthen procurement and supply systems to prevent delays and improve burn‑rate.
• Support MEAL and evidence‑based decision‑making by reviewing health and nutrition assessments, research and findings.
• Develop and maintain quality‑assurance tools such as reporting registers, supervision checklists, quick reference guides and monitoring charts.
• Lead technical design, implementation and monitoring of emergency and development health and nutrition programs, aligning with humanitarian standards.
• Provide technical support for research, learning initiatives, documentation and dissemination of evidence.
• Develop capacity statements and contribute to funding proposals; engage with MoH, donors, UN agencies and clusters to expand funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading health and nutrition programs in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong technical expertise in program design, monitoring, evaluation, learning (MEAL) and quality assurance.
• Ability to supervise and build capacity of multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience in procurement, supply chain management and donor engagement.
• Demonstrated skill in developing funding proposals and managing resource mobilization.
